Gertrude Rush Yearty

Mrs. Gertrude Rush Yearty, age 85, of Temple, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008. She was born March 17, 1923 in Turner County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Warner Franklin Rush, Sr. and the late Mrs. Bessie Mae Stone Rush. She was a member of Liberty Christian Church. She worked as a seamstress at Sewell’s Manufacturing and later worked at Tanner Medical Center in the central supply office. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Franklin Yearty, Sr.; her daughter, Debra Ann Yearty; and her brothers, Otho Andrew “O.A.” Rush, Lee Roy Rush, Fred Rush, Warner Franklin Rush, Jr., and Cecil Rush. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Cora and Gene Holloman, Sandra and John Stillwell, and Sara and Gary Parrish all of Temple; one son and daughter in law, Roy Franklin, Jr. and Judy Yearty of Temple; sister, Ollie Carroll of Temple; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Frances Rush of Carrollton; sisters-in-law, Rachel Rush and Inez Rush both of Carrollton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John Fletcher and Marilyn Yearty of Temple; 5 grandchildren, Dulcie Powell, Jan Gerstenberger, Lance Cummings, Scott Cummings, and Jim Yearty; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a number of step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Minister Bill Gray and Minister Gary Boyd officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by Christi Couch. Interment will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Temple with Minister Tom Howard officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers: Lance Cummings, Scott Cummings, Jim Yearty, Daniel White, Steve Powell, and Deric Rush. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Cummings, Alan Cummings, Chris Cummings, Gene Yearty, Joe Couch, Mike Lewis, Johnny Johnson, Harold Rush, Richard Bracknell, Sean Bracknell, Seth Hobson, J.W. Driver, Ed Driver, Larry Driver, Jerry Driver, Wayne Driver, Richard Britt, William Rush and Alan West. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica, Friday, December 12, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.
