Girlie Edwards Mrs. Mary “Girlie” Allen Edwards, 97 of Douglasville, GA passed away, Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at her residence. She was born November 24, 1914 in Colon, Panama the daughter of the late Amos Allen and the late Mrs. Joanna Allen Allen. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Douglasville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Charles Edwards, one son, Martin Edwards and 2 brothers, James Allen and Wilfred Allen. Survivors include one daughter, Marva Allen of Douglasville, son and daughter-in-law, Rogelio and Robyn Edwards of Brooklyn, NY, sister, Alberta Smalls of Detroit, MI, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Friday, April 13, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Max Caylor officiating.
