Gladys Amelia Lewis Fincher

Mrs. Gladys Amelia Lewis Fincher, age 90, passed away Friday, January 5, 2007 at her residence. She was born July 28, 1916 in Toomsboro, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Wavey Lewis and the late Mrs. Mamie Thompson Lewis. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Douglasville and was a retired registered nurse. She enjoyed writing, gardening, and crocheting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Fincher. She is survived by her son, John W. Fincher of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Grover and Mary Lewis of Dublin; grandchildren, Robert Fincher, Kenneth Fincher, and Cindy Parr; great-grandchildren, Kenley Fincher, Haley Fincher, Caitlyn Parr, and Colton Parr. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, January 8, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Wilson Henley officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta with the following serving as pallbearers: Kenneth Fincher, Robert Fincher, Corey Parr, David Wilson, James Cox, and Dusty Bowlin. Honorary pallbearer will be Colton Parr. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Sunday, January 7, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
