Gladys Carter

Mrs. Gladys Peek Carter, age 84, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at her home. She was born October 12, 1931 in Conyers, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Jess Henry Peek and the late Mrs. Mary Gladys Peek. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a homemaker. She loved music and animals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Carter. She is survived by one daughter, Connie Kelly of Douglasville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve Childress of Temple, Gary and Geri Childress of Douglasville, and Lynn Carter of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, James and Carol Peek of Monticello; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM. Graveside Services will be conducted Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville.
