Gladys Cassell Jeffares

Mrs. Gladys Cassell Jeffares, age 92, of Douglasville, passed away, Monday, March 9, 2020. She was born August 3, 1927 in Fancy Gap, VA the daughter of the late Mr. Burton Luther Cassell and the late Mrs. Minnie Alice Horton Cassell. Gladys grew up in Hillsville, VA and moved to Atlanta in the late 1950's. She retired from Continental Insurance Company of Atlanta, GA and Walmart, Inc. Gladys was a deeply kind and compassionate woman. She devoted much of her time helping others. She was an active member of Chapel Hill Road Baptist Church in Douglasville, GA. She loved her family, friends, and her church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Jeffares; son, Robert Wayne Jeffares. She is survived by her son, Eddie James Jeffares of Douglasville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Kenneth Harbaugh of Villa Rica, Linda and Randall Wilcox of Temple; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Shirley officiating.
