Gladys Lorraine Walker

Mrs. Gladys Lorraine Walker, age 97, of Milford Church Road, Marietta, Georgia went to her heavenly home Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Altus Hospice in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born November 15, 1911 in Statesville, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Mr. James Hill and the late Mrs. Celia Dowell Hill. Mrs. Walker was a homemaker. She was a member of New River Community Church in Douglasville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. A. G. Walker and her sister, Edna Leidy. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Cheryl Walker of Smyrna and George and Wilma Walker of Snellville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Scott Mitchell officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Walker’s grandsons. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour.
