Gladys Mills Harper

Mrs. Gladys Merle Mills Harper, age 93, of Jasper, formally of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015. She was born April 6, 1921 in Hacoda, AL the daughter of the late Mr. Ferdienand Mills and the late Mrs. Mattie Lee Curenton Mills. She was homemaker. Mrs. Harper was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Barto Harper, Sr.; sister, Betty Joyce Glock; four brothers, James Alfred Mills, Herman Loyd Mills, Marvin Eulon Mills and Billy Royce Mills; son-in-law, John Keane.She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Earl Thomas of Waleska; Mattie Keane of Dunwoody; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Donna Harper of Canton, Dwight and Rose Harper of Vining; two sisters, Frances Mills Smith of Birmingham, AL, Mary Sue Zeron of Dothan; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Monday, January 12, 2015 from 1:00 PM until 1:30 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 12, 2015 at 1:30 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home.
