Glen Brittian Bishop

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Glen Brittian Bishop of Douglasville, Georgia, who died on 10/29/2026.

Glen was born on April 24, 1934, in Langdale, AL, to Staley Britten Bishop and Ora Monterey Smedley. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps and went on to a decorated 24-year career. After retiring from the Marines, he worked for the Atlanta Beverage Company until he retired from there as well. But Glen had far too much energy and drive to sit idly by, so he went back to work at The Coca-Cola Company through Xerox. When he was 82, he finally stopped working, and he and his beloved wife, Betty Gail McBride, spent their time traveling the US and Mexico together.

Glen is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Gail Bishop. Glen and Gail are survived by their son, Wiley Bishop and his wife, Lynn, as well as their daughter, Michelle Voyles, and her husband , Edwin. They also leave behind five grandchildren- Stephen Bishop, Hunter Bishop, Caleb Williams, Hannah Bone, and Jared Williams- and many great-grandchildren!

We will gather to celebrate Glen's life at a later date. The family will share the details after the first of the year.
