Glenda Gail Bishop Steely

Mrs. Glenda Gail Bishop Steely, 61, of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born August 25, 1946 in Talladega, Alabama the daughter of the late Mr. John Marvin Bishop and the late Mrs. Alvie Aileen Keahy Bishop. She graduated from Winterboro High School. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church where she was very involved with the youth and served as the Fellowship Chairwoman. She worked as a secretary and retired from Lockheed Martin. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed poetry. She loved music. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Forsythe, Sue Patterson, and Katherine Gravette and her brother, Joe Bishop. She is survived by her husband, William N. “Bill” Steely, Sr. of Whitesburg; son and daughter-in-law, William N. “Bill” Steely, Jr. and his wife Janet of Whitesburg; brothers, Clarence Bishop and Scotty Bishop both of Talladega, AL; grandchildren, Holden Steely, Hayden Steely, and Ashley Steely; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Houston officiating. Interment will follow at West Georgia Memorial Park in Villa Rica. The following will serve as pallbearers: Ken Bishop, Greg Cupp, Brannon Cupp, Thad Bishop, David Bailey, Larry Bailey and Donnie Bailey. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home , Douglas Chapel, Monday, May 19, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
