Glenis Earl Julye, 85, a beloved individual who dedicated his life to serving others and spreading love, passed away on December 17, 2023. Glenis was born on December 10, 1938, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica to the late Mr. John Julye and the late Mrs. Ellen Mullins Julye.
Glenis will always be remembered for his unwavering devotion to God. His love for God was evident in every aspect of his life, and it served as an inspiration to those around him. Glenis lived his life with a deep-rooted faith and was an active member of Central Baptist Church in Douglasville, where he served as a deacon. He found great joy and fulfillment in serving his church community and providing guidance and support to those who needed it.
Described as a loving, kind, and happy individual, Glenis left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. His infectious smile brightened even the darkest days, and his kind heart knew no bounds. Glenis had a genuine love for people and selflessly offered a helping hand whenever it was needed. Beyond his professional commitments, Glenis had a multitude of interests and hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life. He had a beautiful singing voice that would fill any room with warmth. Whether it was whistling a tune or cooking up delicious meals, Glenis found solace in these activities. Gardening and baking were among his favorite pastimes; he took great pride in sharing homemade treats with loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Glenis is preceded in death by 6 siblings.
Glenis is survived by his loving wife, Molly Julye; daughter, Sandra (Hugh) Chin; son, Richard (Heather) Barham; brothers, Leslie (Monica) Julye and Clarence (Valerie) Julye; 6 sisters; grandchildren, Melissa (Rizwan) Rafiq, Nadia (Darren) Hacker, Dana, Jo Anne (Sean) Coombs, Sean and Ian; great-grandchildren Malachi, Luke, Brayden, Isabelle, Grant, Ishmael, and Addison; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 11-12 PM, and the funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at Central Baptist Church in Douglasville. The interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs, Georgia.
