Glenn Duke Stovall, 89, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. He was born on February 5, 1936, the son of the late Gordon D. Stovall and the late Sara Myrtice Wilson Stovall.
Glenn leaves behind a legacy marked by dedication, passion, and service.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Glenn served his country with honor and integrity, reflecting the values he carried throughout his life. His experience in the Navy enriched his perspective and solidified his appreciation for the freedoms we cherish today. Following the United States Navy, Glenn enjoyed a distinguished career as an Engineer for AT&T, where he showcased his expertise and commitment to his work.
Glenn was an active member of the Masonic lodges at Douglasville and Flint Hill, embodying the principles of brotherhood and charitable work that are central to Masonry. In addition to his Masonic affiliations, he was also a Shriner, dedicated to helping children and communities in need.
He was known for his love of the great outdoors, often taking time to engage in hunting and fishing. These activities were not just hobbies for Glenn; they were essential parts of his life that brought him joy and connection to nature.
An ardent sports enthusiast, Glenn had a particular fondness for college basketball and was a devoted supporter of Alabama football. His passion for sports brought him countless hours of thrill and camaraderie with friends and family alike.
Glenn's interests extended to a deep appreciation for World War II history and memorabilia, reflecting his curiosity about the past and respect for those who served during that significant time in history.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Jeanette Stovall; and sisters, Evelyn Elam and Charlotte Getsinger.
He is survived by his daughters, Sheila (Harold) Palmer of Douglasville, GA, and Karin (Chris) Stewart of Plainville, GA; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted on a date and time to be determined.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated.
He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, cherished for his zest for life and the myriad of interests that defined his character. Glenn leaves behind a rich memory of service, friendship, and a love of the historic and natural world.
