Mr. Glenwood Bennie Allman, Sr. Mr. Glenwood Bennie Allman, Sr., 63, of Meadowview Drive, Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at St. Josephâs Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born March 15, 1942, in Moultrie, Georgia. He was the son of the late Wiley Benjamin Allman and Mrs. Flara Bell Aldridge Allman. Mr. Allman was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1960 until 1964. He was a member of Lithia Springs Church of Christ. Mr. Allman worked as an aircraft mechanic in the aircraft repair industry and had retired from Northwest Airlines and Lockheed. In addition to his father, Mr. Allman was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Theresa Marks Allman. Survivors include his daughter, Sally Allman of Douglasville; his son and daughter-in-law, Glenwood B. Allman, Jr. and Stacey Allman of Whitesburg; his mother, Mrs. Flara Bell Aldridge Allman of Moultrie; sisters, Denise Cooper of Moultrie, Janet Cooper of Hahira, Katherine Durham of Mansfield, Charlotte Mayo of Logansville, Robyn Rud of Indian Mound, Tennessee, Alice Prophater of New London, North Carolina and Joyce Jarrell of Moultrie; brothers, Wiley Allman of Tallahassee, Florida and John Allman of Moultrie; two grandchildren; Katlyn Allman and Glenwood B. Allman, III, both of Whitesburg; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Minister Larry Acuff officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Remembrance at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Hickory Level Road in Villa Rica, Georgia.
