Gloria Ogletree Pope

Mrs. Gloria Ogletree Pope, age 68, of Temple, Georgia passed away Monday, July 6, 2009 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia. She was born July 14, 1940 in Carroll County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. John Hiram Ogletree and the late Mrs. Mamie Foster Ogletree. Mrs. Pope worked for and retired from Carroll County Schools as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Concord Methodist Church, Carrollton. Mrs. Pope was an active member of the Carroll County Quilters Guild, Carroll County AARP and Carroll County Senior Citizens Group. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pope was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Wynn Pope and her sister, Betty Jean Shepherd. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Robert Yawn, Kelly A. and Gary Latham and Leslie Swanson, all of Temple; her son, John Bridges Pope, of Temple; her brother and sister-in-law, John Larry and Phyllis Ogletree of Douglasville; three grandchildren, Michael Swanson, Tyler Latham and Mitchell Latham; one great grandchild, Troy Michael Swanson; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, July 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Celebrant Glenn P. Gilmore officiating. Private interment will follow in Concord Methodist Church Cemetery in Carrollton, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
