Gloria Thrower

Mrs. Gloria Elizabeth “Nanny” Thrower, 83, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Friday, January 1, 2016. She was born May 7, 1932 in Piedmont, Alabama. She worked at Kroger in the deli department for 20 years. She attended Lithia Springs Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie K. Attaway; and her husband, Harvey V. “Barney” Thrower. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Thrower Ward of Douglasville, Dodie (Son-in-Law, Brad) McCullar of West Columbia, SC; one son, Harvey (Daughter-in-Law, Jenny) Thrower of Cartersville; five grandchildren, Donnie “Skeeter” Ward (his wife, Barbara), B.J. Ward, Penny Allen (her husband, Matt), Sara Reale (McCullar), and Haley McCullar; five great-grandchildren, Devin Ward, Dylan Ward, Danyelle Ward, Kaydence Allen, and Jaxon Allen; beloved dog, Mitzie; extended relatives, James and Josh Gravitt; several cousins also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Minister Larry Acuff officiating.
