Gordon Raymond Fields, III, 47, of Marietta, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026. He was born on April 4, 1979, the son of Gordon Raymond Fields, Jr. and Wanda Lynn Cobb Fields.
He was a family man and passionate craftsman. Gordon's life was marked by dedication and hard work. As the owner and head craftsman of Fields Handcrafted, Gordon poured his heart and soul into creating works of art that reflected his passion for his craft. His business was more than just a livelihood—it was a testament to his commitment to excellence and his unwavering work ethic and a love for bringing people together. Gordon also worked at Iron Age Furniture as the Director of Operations.
Gordon held a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Toccoa Falls College. His friends and family affectionately called him "Whoppo," a nickname that captured his playful, goofball nature and his ability to light up any room with laughter and warmth.
A sports enthusiast, Gordon was a dedicated fan of both the Atlanta Braves and the University of Georgia (UGA) teams.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Haley Nix Fields; daughter Ellie Fields; step-son, Micah Costlow; sisters, Altairis Fields and Michelle Fields; nieces and nephews Kaylynn Morris (Mason), Tailea Wise (Ashton), Brandon Hogan (Jennifer), Mikayla Fields and Daniel Fields.
In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday June 6, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Sanctuary Church in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Gordon Raymond Fields III will be remembered not only for his skilled craftsmanship and professional achievements but also for his compassionate heart, infectious humor, and the joy he brought into the lives of others and his faith in God. His presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
