Mrs. Grace Josephine McGill, age 76, of Winston, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born March 18, 1933 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Mr. Roland Barrette and Mrs. Emma Phillips Barrette. She married Ray McGill on February 12, 1951. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Douglasville and was a homemaker. She was devoted to her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed genealogy research. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rosemary Stephens, Lorretta Koechke, and Alice Barth; and brothers, Bob Barrette and Don Barrette. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ray McGill of Douglasville; six sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy L. and Sue McGill of Northeast, MD, Kelly and Dale McGill of Villa Rica, GA, Terry P. and Pam McGill of Hollywood, FL, Edward R. and Priscilla McGill, Glenn T. McGill and Kevin M. and Christy McGill all of Douglasville, GA; Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Marie Jenson of McGregor, Iowa, Virginia and Ray Powell of Aurora, Illinois, Josephine Donnohoe of West Union, West Virginia, and Allen Koecke of Waukesha, Wisconsin; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Phil and Doris Barrette of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Leo and Kathy Barrette of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, Mrs. Linnea Barrette of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Marion Barrette of Aurora, Illinois; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Douglasville, Georgia with Father Bill Hao officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. According to her wishes, Mrs. McGill will be cremated following her funeral mass.
