Gregory Robert Peek passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on May 8, 2026.
Greg was born on December 22, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Scotia,
New York. He graduated from Bishop Gibbons School in Schenectady, New York, as a
member of the Class of 1962. He began his college education at Siena College before
being drafted into the U.S. Navy, where he served as a medic aboard the USS O’Hare
during the Vietnam War. After completing his military service, Greg continued his
studies at SUNY Plattsburgh, earning a degree in Business Administration.
Greg was predeceased by Mary “Molly” H. Peek McKay and Robert A. Peek.
He worked for the Boston and Maine Railroad before taking a position with UPS in
1986.
Upon retirement, he and his wife, Andrea, moved to Junction City, Georgia, where they
embraced the warm climate and a peaceful lifestyle at their home, affectionately known
as “Chateau le Peek.”
Greg had a lifelong passion for travel and RVing, taking multiple cross-country trips with
his family. In retirement, he and Andrea continued to explore together, traveling
throughout the Gulf States and along the Eastern Seaboard, and making annual trips
back to New York to visit family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea Hulbert Kiley-Peek; his daughter, Cailin Peek (Jon
Taisey); his son, Aaron Peek of Malta, New York; his grandchildren, Luca and Kellan
Taisey of Malta, New York; and his cousin, Katherine (John) Gulisane of Saratoga
Springs, New York. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Jim Kiley (Kristen) of Fort
Myers, Florida, and Lorene “Renie” Hyde (Sam) of Villa Rica, Georgia.
Greg is further survived by his step-grandchildren: Carson Kiley of Marietta, Georgia;
Camryn Kiley of Smyrna, Georgia; Jacob Hyde (Victoria) of Villa Rica, Georgia; and
Jared Hyde (Taylor) of Mount Zion, Georgia.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A service will be held at a later
date, with interment to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to Wellstar Hospice in Greg’s honor, in gratitude
for the compassionate care they provided.
