Mr. Grover Cleveland Beason, age 70, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born December 14, 1936 in Heflin, AL. He was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam having served for over 22 years and was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked for over 21 years for the Douglas County Board of Commissioners as a Building Inspector. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Douglasville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amanda Beason and his wife, Charlotte Roslyn Nichols Beason. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Ronald Byrd of Douglasville; son, Johnny Clarence Jarriel, Jr. of Douglasville; 3 granddaughters, Kayla, Katie and Bailey Byrd; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, August 24, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Smallwood and Pastor Bobby Wood officiating. Interment and graveside service will follow at Heflin Memorial Gardens on Friday at 4:00 PM CST. Full military honors will be rendered by the Ft. Rucker Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be the Douglas County Building Inspectors. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mr. Grover Cleveland Beason to the Second Baptist Church of Douglasville Building Fund.
