Mr. Grover Cleveland Jackson, 83, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014. He was born May 21, 1930 in Dawsonville, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Jesse Jackson and the late Mrs. Ruth Jane Pettit Jackson. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He married Patricia Faye Haney on February 18, 1956 in Carrollton. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for MCI Enterprises. Mr. Jackson loved life, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For five years, he was Mr. Santa Clause. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Jackson and sister, Annie Ruth âSnooksâ Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Faye Haney Jackson of Lithia Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Jimmy Smith of Villa Rica, Delaine and Michael Gable of Villa Rica, and Delaree Jackson of Hendersonville, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Anita Jackson of Bainbridge; brothers and sisters-in-law, William âDudeâ and Faye Jackson of Whitesburg, Fred âCooterâ Jackson of Liberty, SC, and Bobby and Gayle Jackson of Temple; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Jamey and Melissa Smith, Jason and Katie Smith, Jeremy and Dawn Jackson, Daniel and Rosanna Jackson, Danielle and James Adams, Gabrielle and James McGarity, Michelle and Don OâShields, Marie Dudley and Taylor Dudley; thirteen great-grandchildren, Trevor Smith, Khloe Smith, Collin Nastinski, Landon Nastinski, Jake Smith, Dawson Jackson, Jenna Jackson, Zachary Jackson, Dylan Jackson, Clayton Fletcher, T.J. Adams, Hunter Adams, and Madison OâShields; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville, Monday, February 10, 2014 from 10:30 until 12:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, February 10, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Locke, Pastor Michael Gable and Rev. Don OâShields officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville. The following will serve as pallbearers: Jamey Smith, Jason Smith, Trevor Smith, Jeremy Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Dawson Jackson, and Clayton Fletcher.
