Guy Lamar Hembree

Mr. Guy Lamar Hembree, age 74 of Villa Rica passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020. He was born May 17, 1945, the son of the late Mr. Hugh Dorsey Hembree and the late Mrs. Lennie Fae Mayfield Hembree. Mr. Hembree was a 1964 graduate of Villa Rica High School. He served in the United States Army receiving a Bronze Star. He also served in Vietnam where he received a Good Conduct medal, and a National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Hembree was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers, Charles Hembree, Tim Hembree, Stanley Hembree, Virgil Hembree; sister, Rudene Hunter. Mr. Hembree is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mrs. Peggy Dobbs Hembree; daughter and fiance, Lamonda Varner and James Pate of Villa Rica, Georgia; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Hembree of Villa Rica, Georgia, Tommy and Pam Hembree of Villa Rica, Georgia; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Vicky Caldwell of Temple, Georgia, Cindy and Rusty Samples of Villa Rica, Georgia, Malinda and Lemuel Camp of Villa Rica, Georgia, Gail McGee of Carrollton, Georgia; brother, Bobby Hembree of Florida; grandchildren, Kayla and Andy O'Quinn of Savannah, Georgia, Blake Hembree of St. Louis, Missouri, Marah Howard of Atlanta, Georgia, Johnny and Tina Mata of Whitesburg, Georgia, Thomas Varner of Villa Rica, Georgia; great grandchild, Sophie Howard; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica with Bro. Ray Huddleston officiating.
