Gwendol Lazelle Ivey

Gwendol Lazelle Ivey, 61, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. Mr. Ivey was born June 5, 1947 in Carroll County, Georgia the son of the late Lloyd Fulton Ivey and the late Lillian Busby Ivey. Mr. Ivey was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War. He was an active member of the Lions Club as well as a member of the City Council in Villa Rica. Survivors include his loving wife, Betsy Ivey of Marietta; daughters and son in-law, Amanda Ivey of Villa Rica; and Ashley and Craig Pope of Princeton, NJ; son and daughter in-law, Brandon and Sara Herring of San Francisco, CA; sister and brother in-law, Fran and Lacey Robinson of Carrollton; brothers and sisters in-law, Larry and Peggy Ivey of Villa Rica; Hal and Gail Ivey of Villa Rica; and Lance and Julie Ivey of Carrollton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be conducted Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Celebrant Glenn P. Gilmore and Craig Pope officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Sunday, June 15, 2008 from 2:00 PM until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southeastern Paralyzed Veterans Association, 4010 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815.
