Mrs. Gwendolyn Joan Meers, 54, of Industrial Boulevard, Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 12, 2005 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia. She was August 1, 1950, in Fulton County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Herman Bowen and Mrs. Virginia Burnette Gillham. Mrs. Meers was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Shrine Club of Carrollton and the Ladies Auxillary of the American Legion, Post 70 in Villa Rica. Survivors include her husband, Ernest Meers of Villa Rica; her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Keith Woody of Carrollton; her sons and daughter-in-law, Barry Peppers and his partner Libby Criswell of Winder, Tony and Frances Edwards of Carrollton, Terry R. Hyche of Rogersville, Alabama, Michael E. Meers of Rogersville, Alabama and Aaron Meers of Rogersville, Alabama; mother, Virginia Burnette Gillham of Conyers; sister and her partner, Pamela Bowen and Mark Pugmire of Lawrenceville; brothers and sister-in-law, Bill Bowen of Cleveland and Steve and Debbie Bowen of South Carolina; grandchildren, Kyle Edwards, Brandon Edwards, Nikki Peppers, Chase Woody and Cody Peppers; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Brother Bud Bratcher officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery in Between, Georgia. The family will gather graveside at 1:30PM.
