Mrs. Gwendolyn Johnson Warren, age 89, of Winston, passed away, Tuesday, April 9, 2019. She was born January 20, 1930 in Lexington, NC the daughter of the late Rev. Charles Roson Johnson and the late Mrs. Mollie Honeycutt Johnson. Mrs. Warren taught Sunday School for 60 years. She played the piano and organ at the churches her husband pastored. She had a passion for studying and teaching the word of God. Her favorite pastime was spent enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a prayer warrior and dedicated her life to serving the Lord and her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Ira Warren; daughter, Carol Warren Dobbs; brothers, D.V. Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Joe Johnson, Bronson Johnson,; sisters, Annie Johnson Haynes, Pauline Johnson Emerson, Evelyn Johnson Hurst, Elizabeth âTibbyâ Johnson. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Molly and Mike Mitchell of Winston, Beth and Mark Camp of Douglasville, Dorcas and Todd Cowan of Winston; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Karen Warren of Carrollton; son-in-law, A.J. Dobbs of Villa Rica; brothers, J.P. Johnson of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Joshua Dobbs, Gwendy Dobbs, Nathan and Tiffany Mitchell, Steven and Ruth DeBorde, Matthew and Rebekah Warren, Andrew Warren, David Warren, Eric and Whitney Inglis, Taylor Camp, Zach Camp, Kyle and Hannah Grantham, Paul and Brianne Cowan, Daniel and Cierra Cowan, Rachel Cowan; great grandchildren, Jana, Cameron, Leah, and Colton Dobbs, Madison and Luke Bishop, Rylee, Libby, and Houston Mitchell, Evie, Ira, and James DeBorde, Joseph, Simon, and Abigail Warren, Katie and Kara Inglis, Indie Grantham, Jaelynn Cowan, and soon to arrive, Mila Cowan; several nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive. The family will receive friends at Ephesus Baptist Church in Villa Rica, Friday, April 12, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, April 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Godwin and Mr. Matthew Warren officiating.
