Harold Edward ”Eddie” Nixon, Jr, 58, of Carrollton, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was born on February 19, 1966 the son of the late Harold Edward Nixon, Sr. and the late Sara Margaret Turner Nixon.
Eddie lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and love. Throughout his career in construction Eddie showcased unparalleled skill and commitment to his craft. Beyond his professional endeavors, Eddie found true joy and fulfillment in his roles as a father and grandfather. His love knew no bounds as he cherished every moment spent with his family. A man of many talents, Eddie was an excellent cook and he delighted in preparing meals that brought loved ones together around the table. Among his many interests were his adoration for the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or enjoying quiet moments in nature while gardening, fishing, or golfing, Eddie found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life. One could often find Eddie behind the wheel of his golf cart, traversing the community and spreading joy wherever he went. His friendly demeanor and genuine care for others was evident to all him who crossed his path. In addition to his human companions, Eddie shared a special bond with his beloved dog Dixie.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Terri Nixon; sons, Hunter Nixon, Beau Nixon both of Carrollton, and Cade (Jessica Huckeba) Nixon of Bremen; sister, Lynn (Dan) Broome of Carrollton, and Joyce Nixon of Carrollton; one grand-daughter, Millie Nixon; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 3:00 PM from the Villa Rica Chapel at Jones-Wynn with Rev. Gary Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at Concord United Methodist Church.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Brian Armstrong, Brian Long, Brandon Wells, Sean Nelson, Blake Kennedy, Kalob Armstrong and honorary pall bearer, Ricky Warren.
