Mrs. Hattie Lou Swafford Bell, age 79, of Paulding County, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. Mrs. Bell was born May 16, 1929 in the Union Community of Paulding County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Romie G. Swafford and the late Mrs. Minnie Cole Swafford. She was a lifelong resident of Paulding County. Mrs. Bell was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress in the clothing industry. She married Lawrence C. Bell on July 3, 1947. Mrs. Bell was a member of Beulahland Baptist Church in Rockmart, Georgia. She had been a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Bell served as volunteer for the Gray Ladies for Paulding Memorial Hospital and the American Red Cross during the 1960âs and served as a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother for the Cub Scouts in the 1970âs. She loved all of her family dearly, but her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren were the LOVES of her life. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence C. Bell in 2005; her brother, Grover Swafford and her sister, Gladys Swafford, both of Paulding County, Georgia. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Bobby Hunton of Douglasville and Angela and Bruce Fennell of Dallas; her sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Marcia Bell and Larry and Lori Bell, all of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and many close friends also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, October 3, 2008 at 2:00 PM from Beulahland Baptist Church in Rockmart, Georgia with Revs. Kent Bankston and Steve Goldin officiating. Eulogy by granddaughter, Chanda Minehart. Musicial selections will be rendered by the Beulahland Baptist Church Choir. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Hunton, Christa Chosewood, Chad Minehart, David Bell, Michael Younts and Jerry Swafford. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Hunton and Jason Edwards. Interment will follow in Beulahland Cemetery in Rockmart, Georgia.
