Helen Darlene Marksberry, 80 of Douglasville, GA, and formerly of Hamilton, Ohio and Quercus Grove, IN, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Wellstar Hospital in Douglasville. She was born August 27, 1939 in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of Orville H and Mabel M (Moyer) Thompson. On May 17, 1958, she married John Leonard Marksberry at St. Joseph's Church in Hamilton Ohio. The two enjoyed 56 years of marriage until his death on May 22, 2014. Darlene was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora, IN, for over 40 years. At the time of her death, she was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Douglasville, GA Over the years, Darlene enjoyed showing horses, trail rides, sewing, baking, coloring, ceramics, going to church and spending time with her grand-and great grandchildren. She enjoyed long walks on the beach, collecting shells and watching the sun set. Darlene will be greatly missed by her daughter: Victoria (Blake) Green of Douglasville, GA, her son: Kurt (Bobbi) Marksberry of Vevay, IN, her grandchildren: Timothy Broering of Brownsburg, IN, Corporal Blakelynn Green (Jessica) of Jacksonville, NC, Alisa Green of Brownsburg, IN, and Lauren Marksberry of Vevay, IN, her great-grandchildren: Noah Tillery (Green) of Brownsburg, IN, Damian Green of Jacksonville, NC, Lawrence Eugene Jr. Rochell (Green) and Sebastian Rochell (Green) of Brownsburg, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and great-grandson Kannon Broering. Services were held on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Douglasville, GA. A graveside burial service will be conducted with family at St. Stephens Cemetery, Hamilton, OH, in the spring, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband John.
