Helen Matthews

Mrs. Helen Wallis Matthews, 92, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017. She was born on October 4, 1924 in Carroll County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Childress Wallis and the late Mrs. Lois Helena Richards Wallis. She was a member of Midway Church, formerly Midway Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church since 1938. She was also a member of the Villa Rica Garden Club and the Carroll County Genealogy Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. Jack Donald Matthews. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Ellen Matthews-kirk, Julia and Dale Roysden, two sons and daughters-in-law Roger and Linda Matthews, Jeff and Brenda Matthews, eight grandchildren: Karen Johnson, Sandra Butler, Jody Matthews, Sharon Walls, Jason Matthews, Amanda Bilbo, Leah Johnson, Jeb Matthews, ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, one niece, Jane Matthews Conway. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 3:00 until 4:00PM. Memorial service will be conducted June 15, 2017 at 4:00PM at the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica with Pastor Tim Johnson.
