Helena Allen

Mrs. Helena Louise McLaughlin Allen, age 79, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, July 3, 2015. She was born September 9, 1935 in Prichard, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mr. Curvin McLaughlin and the late Mrs. Claudia Williams McLaughlin. She worked as a hostess at Desert Inn in Las Vegas. She was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Winston where she enjoyed volunteering. She volunteered at Good Samaritan, Loving Hands, and Meals on Wheels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence B. Rogers; and all of her siblings. She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Sherry L. Capps of Winston, Linda C. and Bob Blastow of Winston and Marsha A. Pinson of Gainesville, FL; one son, James Capps of Hue, Vietnam; five grandchildren, Deva Pinson, Marty Pinson, Lauren Blastow, Lacey Boutwell, and Taylor Boutwell; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be conducted Monday, July 13, 2015 at 6:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating.
