Henry Edward "Ed" Redwine

Mr. Henry Edward “Ed” Redwine, 78, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Monday, July 10, 2006 at Porsbridge Hospice in Austell. He was born December 13, 1927 in DeKalb County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Charles M. Redwine, Sr. and the late Mrs. Clara Lucile Manous Redwine. He graduated from Tech High School in Atlanta and attended the Atlanta Division of the University of Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Jeanne Austin on September 10, 1955 in Atlanta. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs were he served as a deacon and was a member of the SOS Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Battle Hill Lodge. He was the owner of Riverside Express Freight Transportation Service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles M. Redwine, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanne Austin Redwine of Lithia Springs; two daughters and son-in-law, Pam Redwine of Lithia Springs and Ann and Dennis Mitchell of Dacula; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Symatha Redwine of Lithia Springs; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs with Dr. Marion Beaver officiating. Mr. Redwine will lie in state at the church from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta with his nephews serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs. Masonic Graveside Services will be conducted by the Battle Hill Masonic Lodge. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Heartland Portsbridge Hospice, 5990 Love Street, Austell, Georgia 30106 or National Hospice Foundation, Dept 6058, Washington, DC 20042-6058 or to the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs “Journey to Tomorrow” Building Fund, 3566 Veterans Memorial Highway, Lithia Springs, Georgia 30122.
