Mr. Henry Lamar Jackson, Sr., age 80, of Sand Hill-Hickory Level Road, Carrollton, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton following an extended illness. He was born August 17, 1926 in Carroll County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Clyde Pierre Jackson and the late Mrs. Julia Mildred Brasher Jackson. Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Ruth Wade on June 19, 1949. He was a member of Midway Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and was passionate about service to the youth of the church. He was a member of the Adult Choir and was a long time deacon. He was a member of the Senior Faithful Foundation and the Senior Caleb Cousins. He retired from Kroger following 39 years of devoted service. He was a member of the Ruritan Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mrs. Ruth Wade Jackson of Carrollton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry Lamar Jackson, Jr. and Lynn Jackson of Villa Rica and Allan and Laurie Jackson of Fort Worth, TX; two sisters, Judy Pollard of Carrollton and Frances Nicotra of Powder Springs; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 11:00 AM from Midway Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Wright and Rev. Jeff Powell officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by Nadine Hembree and the Midway Macedonia Baptist Church Choir. Interment will follow at Midway Macedonia Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Mike Attaway, Glenn Nicotra, Mike Pollard, Johnny Pollard, Mark Pollard, Buddy Wade and Emory Attaway. Deacons of Midway Macedonia Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, May 22, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Jackson to the Midway Macedonia Baptist Church Building Fund, 3915 Carrollton-Villa Rica Highway, Villa Rica, Georgia 30180.
