Herschel Freeman

Mr. Herschel Henry Freeman, age 82, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011. He was born December 7, 1928 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late Mr. George Henry Freeman and the late Mrs. Donella Cox Freeman. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He retired as a furniture salesman and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church in Douglasville. He loved singing and listening to gospel music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Keith Freeman in 2007. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Brenda Joy King Freeman of Douglasville; his children and their spouses, Michael Neal and Jan Freeman of Marshall, TX; Kathie Jo and Keith Benson of Peachtree City, GA; Kellie Elaine and Ricky Bennett of Locust Grove, GA; and Kim Garner of Locust Grove, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Mac McMichael of Longview, TX; his aunt, Opal Cox of Covington; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be conducted Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11:00 AM from Clearview Baptist Church in Douglasville. According to his wishes, his body was cremated.
