Hershel Bachelor

Mr. Hershel Lee Bachelor, 87 of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away, Monday, April 9, 2012 at his residence. He was born June 12, 1924 in Ft. Payne, AL the son of the late Otis Franklin Bachelor and the late Mrs. Alma Lee Jackson Bachelor. He was retired from Genuine Parts Company as a Purchasing Agent. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica, and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Yancey. Survivors include his wife, Betty S. Bachelor of Villa Rica, daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Robert E. Boggs of Boca Raton, FL, son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Lisa Bachelor of Duluth, sister, Hazel Yancey of Florida, brother, Curtis Bachelor of Alabama, 4 grandchildren, Robert E. and Brenda Boggs of Clermont, FL, Douglas Lee and Angela Boggs of Cheshire, CT, Ansley and Jeremy Acuff of Gainesville, GA and Allison and Travis Snell of Dunwoody, 5 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will received friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM from First Baptist Church of Villa Rica with Rev. Jeff Powell officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the West Georgia Memorial Park. The Fellowship Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escort.
