Hester Morris

Mrs. Hester Brown Beck Adams Morris went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. She was born December 25, 1918 in Calhoun County, Alabama the daughter of the late Mr. William Ervin Brown and the late Mrs. Minnie Lee King Brown. Hester was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Dewey, George, and DeWitt Brown; three husbands, Alvin Beck, Ernest Adams, and James Morris as well as two sons-in-law, Joe Thigpen and Donnie Dodson. She is survived by five children: Gwendolyn Thigpen, Ina and Ervin Mason, Wayne and Gail Beck, Dale Adams Dodson, all of Douglasville, GA and Terry and Peggy Beck of Locust Grove, GA; Nine Grandchildren, Sheryl and David Clay of Douglasville, Cathy and Bill Bass of Benson, AZ, Teresa Thigpen of Douglasville, Tony Mason of London, England, Janice Mason, Paul Dodson and Jennifer Grove of Douglasville, GA, Travis and Carol Beck of Georgetown, IN, Nicole and David Gay of Bonaire, Georgia; twelve great-grandchildren: Lt. Ryan and Katie Clay of Fort Benning, GA, Matthew Clay of Tallahassee, FL, Joshua Clay, Andrew MacKay, Christopher MacKay, Kayla Grove and Summer Millirons of Douglasville, GA, Airman Scott Beck of Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD, Ashton Beck of Georgetown, IN, Matthew, Tyler and Emily Gay of Bonaire, GA. Hester is also survived by two sisters, Grace Turner of Anniston, AL, and Dorothy Tygret of Hunstville, AL as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM with the Funeral Service immediately following at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Minister Larry Musick officiating.
