Hoyt Humphries

Mr. Hoyt Eugene Humphries, age 82, of Villa Rica passed away August 14, 2012 peacefully in his home. He was born November 15, 1929, in Fulton County, the son of the late Mr. Hubbard Eugene Humphries and the late Mrs. Annie Mae White Humphries. Mr. Humphries served as a Naval electrician’s mate from 1948 until 1952. His last posting was on board the aircraft carrier, USS Antietam. He was a retired industrial engineer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Reba Doris Bowen Humphries. He is survived by his second wife, Eva Merrill Humphries of Villa Rica; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Dale and Juli Humphries of Temple; step-children, Christina Dewberry of Winston-Salem, NC, Harrison Burkhart of Temple; Andrew Ballard of Buchannan; grandchildren, James and Haylee Humphries of Temple, Joseph Humphries of Pocatello, ID, Summer Burkhart and Dianna Burkhart of Yulee, FL, Cody Ballard of Douglasville and Nicole Ballard of Buchannan; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Bowen of Mount Pleasant, TX, and Runell McClain of Villa Rica. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Friday, August 17, 2012 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM, from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Elder Tracy Blackburn officiating.
