Hubert Edward Williams

Hubert Edward Williams, 80, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008. Mr. Williams was born June 15, 1928 in Douglas County, Georgia; the son of the late James Robert Williams and the late Odessa Mae Fortner Williams. As a veteran of the United States Air Force, Mr. Williams worked as a Communication Specialist at Dobbins Air Force Base and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, farming and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Cannon. Survivors include daughters and sons in-law, Toni Hitchcock of Winston; Sherry and Tom Foreman of Carrollton, and Angela Garmon of Lithia Springs; companion, Elna Faye Mayfield; brothers, Ray Williams of Villa Rica, and Elvis Williams of Monticello; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM from Flat Rock Baptist Church in Villa Rica with Dr. Jerry Brown officiating. Mr. Williams will lie in state at the church from 10:30 AM until the service hour. Interment will follow at Powell Chapel Cemetery.
