Hubert Meeks

Hubert Meeks Mr. Hubert Meeks, 76, of Panama City, Florida; formerly of Carroll County, Georgia passed away Monday, December 31, 2007 at Bay Medical Center in Florida. Mr. Meeks was born March 22, 1931 in Coweta County, Georgia; the son of the late John Sidney Meeks and the late Lilla Lula Muse Meeks. Mr. Meeks was a retired contractor and of the Baptist faith. As a veteran of the United States Military, Mr. Meeks served in the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Therisa Delores Meeks Paul; sons, Charles Wayne Meeks, Hubert Sidney Meeks; and brothers, George Meeks, Charles Meeks, Bill Meeks, Delmas Meeks, Joseph Meeks, and Daniel Meeks. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Delores Matthews Meeks; son and daughter in-law, Robert S. and Deborah A. Meeks of Sumter, South Carolina; brothers and sisters in-law, Harold and Jeannette Meeks of Villa Rica; Hugh and Edith Meeks of Heflin, Alabama; Maureen Meeks; Marie Meeks; and Donna Meeks; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Georgia with Rev. Tony Collins and Rev. Brian Haney officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Christian Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Georgia on Friday, January 4, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
