Iris Ann McLeod

Mrs. Iris Ann "Iky" McLeod born on February 9, 1936 in Hickory, North Carolina residing in Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021. Iris was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglasville, Georgia and belonged to the Keenagers Sunday School class. She loved playing bridge, gardening, canning, making jellies and cooking, but most of all, she loved her soul mate and Husband Roy. Although she was born in Hickory, North Carolina, she moved around the country as her stepfather was in the army. She attended Huntington College in Alabama. Shortly after, she met and married her husband of 60 years and 9 months in Miami, Florida. Mrs. McLeod is survived by her husband, Mr. Roy Alexander McLeod, Jr.; daughter, Sharon Lester; sister, Margaret Renney; granddaughter Lauren (Paul) Knueppel; grandsons, Michael (Chelsea) McLeod, Lucas (Erin) Lester, Hayden McLeod; six great grandchildren, Benton, Lincoln, Hazel, Ayden, Michael Knox, and Landon, whom she loved so much and brought her great joy. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Rev. Danny West officiating.
