Mrs. Iris Knowles Eubanks, age 94, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the Newnan Hospital Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newnan, Georgia following an extended illness. She was born May 5, 1915 in Rutledge, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Grover Cleveland Knowles and the late Mrs. Lucille Covington Knowles. Mrs. Eubanks was a Proverbs 31 woman who adored her family and was devoted to her roles of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her legacy is her family. She was an amazing cook who specialized in many recipes and her family has fond memories of her recipes for cheese straws and custard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Franklin Eubanks, Sr.; one grandchild; her sisters, Mary Knowles and Helen Brodeur. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Tommy Brown of Dade City, FL, Linda and Kenneth Godby of Douglasville, GA, and Sharon and Jeff Schultz of Newnan, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel F. Eubanks, Jr. and Diane Eubanks of Peachtree City, GA and Bobby and Sharon Eubanks of Acworth, GA; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nephews, Benny Ricketson of Savannah, Larry Brodeur of Coco Beach, FL and David Brodeur of Highland, CA. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, November 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Minister Larry Musick officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
