J. Harold Ragsdale

Mr. J. Harold Ragsdale, 84, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, June 18, 2007 at Tranquility Hospice in Austell, Georgia. Mr. Ragsdale was born January 4, 1923 in Cherokee County, Georgia; the son of the late Mr. Ode Ragsdale and the late Mrs. Lula Howard Ragsdale. He retired from Electric Storage and Battery Company and was a member of Sunset Hills Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening in his spare time. Preceded in death by his parents; he is survived by his wife, Syble Merritt Ragsdale whom he married on February 21, 1951; daughters, Barbara Moreno and Harolyn Ragsdale both of Douglasville; sisters, Odie Mae Long of Woodstock and Nell Hill of Acworth; brother and sister in-law, John and Grace Ragsdale of Canton; four grandchildren, Daniel Moreno, Andrew Moreno, Julie and Tim Podsiadlik, and Jill and Greg Faircloth; five great grandchildren, Bryan Dickinson, Stephen Dickinson, Justin Hicks, Alex Faircloth, Ashley Faircloth; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, in Douglasville, Georgia. Interment will follow with a graveside service at 1:30 PM in Little River Methodist Church Cemetery in Woodstock, Georgia with Rev. Stephen Williams and Rev. Max Hill officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Wednesday, June 20, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
