Mr. Jack Roy Dillard Sr., 67, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, May 7th, 2009 at Tranquility Hospice in Austell. He was born September 1, 1941 in Cornelia, Georgia the son of the late Albert Roy Dillard and the late Mrs. Rena Mae Eller Dillard. He worked as a mechanic and machinist for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 34 years. He was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed racing, hunting and fishing. Jack was an enthusiastic member of a local antique car club and enjoyed spending time with his many friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will remain in the hearts of his many friends by the story of his life. Mr. Dillard was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Dillard. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Ann Dillard; daughter Debbie Darlene Dillard of Douglasville; son Jack Roy Dillard Jr. of Wedowee; sisters Nancy Nix of Powder Springs; brothers Max Dillard of Douglasville, Tommy Dillard of Mableton; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Brother Roger Hamett officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Friday, May 8, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
