Jack Benson Whitaker

Jack Benson Whitaker, age 85, of Lithia Springs, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022. He was born February 19, 1937, son of the late Mr. Roy Lawrence Whitaker and the late Mrs. Bessie Stamps Whitaker. Mr. Whitaker worked in the construction field for many years remodeling and finishing home and retired from GM at age 55. He also enjoyed taking trips to the casino. He loved being a Paw Paw and was a beloved husband.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Mauldin Whitaker; daughter, Cathy Ann Gantt; brother, Jerome Whitaker; sister in law, Clara Whitaker.

He is survived by his sons, Jack (Connie) Whitaker of Newnan, Tim (Catherine) Whitaker of Ellijay; sister, Diane (Larry) Whitaker Kirby of Lithia Springs; brother, Roy (Barbara) Whitaker of Temple; grandchildren, Greg, Dusty, Zack, Taylor and Michael; great grandchildren, Meagan, Marley, Jared and Joshua; great great grandchildren, Lyle Ward Whitaker and Aria Parke; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Henry Swofford officiating.
