Mr. James Elmer Alston, 81, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017. He was born May 21, 1936 in Raeford, North Carolina, the son of the late Mr. Benjamin Alston and the late Mrs. Annie Brown Alston. He married Earline Daniels on December 7, 1957 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He retired as an Automobile Mechanic having worked at American Woodmart for many years. He was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Earline Daniels Alston of Douglasville; one son and a daughter-in-law, Dion and Anjelica Alston of Lithia Springs; two grandchildren, Madison Alston and Victor Alston; one great-grandchild, Maverick Alston-Jones; many nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Malcolm Hurst officiating.
