James Howell Bell

James "Howell" Bell, 89, of Winston, Georgia passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025. He was born in Atlanta on January 2, 1936 to the late Ella Mary Craig Bell and Lawrence Hubert Bell. He was a man who was devoted to God and loved his family.

James was known for his work ethic, he worked for Georgia Power for 30 years where he was a lineman and then moved up to management. After work, James could be found tinkering with antique cars, watching a Braves game, or maintaining his lawn. He was a lover of the outdoors and always enjoyed spending his free time being in nature. James lived a life that was full of faith, hard work, adventure and family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Lois Ardetha Bell; and grandson, Master James Huffman.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 41 years, Mrs. Sandra Allen Bell; daughter and son-in-law, Kim (Rocky) Denney of Pensacola, Florida; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony (Cindy) Bell and Stacey (Tracie) Bell, both of Winston, Georgia; step-children, Tammy Lovins of Clarkdale, Georgia and Brad Perkerson; sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce McWaters of Jasper, Georgia, Harriett Harrell of Wedowee, Alabama and Jane (Roger) Rainwater of Villa Rica, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, William (Marie) Bell of Lithia Springs, Georgia; as well as seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. Funeral services will be held on the same day at 1:00 PM with interment to follow at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta.
