Bro. James Guy Biddy, age 72, of Douglasville passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024. He was born February 4, 1952 in Alpharetta to the late Mr. Paul Biddy.
He had a heart for pastoring as he pastored several churches, including Fairhaven Baptist Church as Senior Pastor for 37 years. He loved God and he loved people. He truly had a servant’s heart.
In his younger years, he owned a trucking company & was a master electrician. He also coached various ball teams for his children and grandchildren.
James was part of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. He was especially proud of his time in the service as he loved his country. At Fort Bragg, he became a paratrooper. Not even the military could bury his infectious smile.
He was incredibly patient, slow to speak, and slow to anger. His name was more-than-fitting as many verses in the book of James speak to character traits he demonstrated on a daily basis. He was humble and consistent, always the same. It didn’t matter to him if you were young or old, rich or poor, had humble beginnings or came from wealth, or even if you had treated him well or done him wrong. He was still the same and treated you the same and never changed. He was true to God and true to self. He was loyal to a fault.
He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 51 years, Doris, 4 daughters & 2 son in law’s who absolutely adored him: Jennifer, Angie, Julie & Randy, Amy & Keith, his boy Caleb, grandchildren Holly, Isaac, Heather, John, Keith Jr, Ashlyn, Taylor, Tim, Abbey, Levi, Andrew, Ali, and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Greeson, many nieces, nephews and cousins, a church family like no other and many friends who were closer than family.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
