James Brown

June 7, 1925 — February 17, 2013

Mr. James Harry Brown, age 87, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 following an extended illness. He was born June 7, 1925 in Union City, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Harry Lee Brown and the late Mrs. Nettie Jailette Brown. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired as a supervisor with Atlanta Gas Light Company and he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Brown. He is survived by his wife, Lenora Starr Brown of Douglasville; daughters and son-in-law, Pamela Brown of Stone Mountain and Cheryl and Richard Grams of Douglasville; sons and daughter-in-law, James H. Brown, Jr. of Florida and Brad and Dana Johnson of Winston; sisters, Sandra Maxwell, Jean Hennessey, and Betty Ann Friendman; 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Wednesday, February 20, 2013 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Memorial Services will be conducted Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. John Pennington and Mr. Bill Shipp officiating.
