James Byron "J.B." Johnston

Mr. James Byron “J.B.” Johnston, age 73, of Dallas, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010. He was born February 2, 1937 in Powder Springs, Georgia the son of the late Mr. James Paul Johnston and the late Mrs. Myrtle Marie Wellham Johnston. He served honorably in the United States Air National Guard. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Temple and worked as a Carpenter. He was a devoted family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed gardening. He married Iris Ragsdale Robinson on September 1, 2007 in Sevierville, Tennessee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Pauline Jones. He is survived by his loving wife, Iris Ragsdale Robinson of Dallas; his daughters and son-in-law, Linda Watson and Jan Scarbrough of Villa Rica and Candi Darlene Reece of Temple; sons and daughters-in-law, James Fredrick and Jessica Johnston of Buchanan and Christopher Lee and Barbie Johnston of Villa Rica; sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Jimmy McMichen of Douglasville, Mary and Bill Stewart of Felton, Patsy and Curtis Rutland of Lenox and Betty and Bobby Estes of Hiram; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Ann Johnston of Dallas; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Temple. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica, Monday, February 8, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
