Mr. James Calvin Croy, 69, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away after a long battle with cancer Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Wellstar Community Hospice at Tranquility in Austell, Georgia He was born February 8, 1937 in Cherokee County, Georgia, the son of Mr. Clifton Croy and Mrs. Willis Chadwick Croy. Mr. Croy later moved to Forsyth County and then to Douglasville, Georgia. He was a truck driver for ABF and a million mile member without a chargeable accident. Mr. Croy later worked for Douglas County Road Department for 8 years before retiring in October, 2004. He was a member of the Teamsters for 30 years and the Douglasville Masonic Lodge #289. Mr. Croy was of the Baptist Faith. He was a devoted husband, daddy, granddaddy and great granddaddy and he never met a stranger. Mr. Croy also enjoyed deer hunting. In addition to his parents, Mr. Croy was preceded in death by his son, Timmie James Croy. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Martha Martin Croy of Douglasville; his son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Wanda Croy of Carrollton; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Frank Head, Susan and Tommy Wilson, Janie and James Stewart, all of Cumming; Uncle Weldon and Clara Chadwick of Douglasville and Aunt Hazel Chadwick of Cumming; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Fairy Croy, Bradford and Annette Croy of Cumming and Bennie and Mickie Croy of Locust Grove; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 2:30 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Mr. Croyâs cousin, Rev. Thad Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, Georgia.
