James Lonnie Coleman, 83, of Lithia Springs, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024. He was born on August 31, 1940, the son of the late James Thomas Coleman and the late Lettie Mae Springer.
James dedicated almost forty years of his life to Coleman Brother's Sheet Metal Company.
James had a heart of gold and he never met a stranger, He was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand and drive people wherever they needed to go. His kind and generous nature touched the lives of many around him. In his free time, James indulged in various hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He enjoyed wrestling matches, card tricks that never failed to amaze, and had a sweet tooth for delectable treats. His love for classic TV shows like "Andy Griffith" and "Sanford and Son" brought him much entertainment. Additionally, he found excitement in gambling and scratching off lottery tickets.
Despite his professional achievements, James always spoke with pride about his greatest accomplishments - his children and grandchildren. They were the lights of his life, bringing him joy and fulfillment. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Curtis Coleman and Joel Tommy Coleman; sister, Bonnie Gail Coleman, nieces, Rachal Pecoraro and Tammy Lynn Coleman and a nephew, Ronald J. Coleman
He is survived by his children, Wanda (Thomas) Foster of Lithia Springs, Rhonda (Charles) Freeman of Charlotte, North Carolina, Bonnie Morales-Gallegos of Douglasville; Allen Sudduth of Lithia Springs, and Mark (Shalesha) Coleman of Lithia Springs; sister and brother-in-law, Dawn (Ken) Hankinson of Bremen; brother and sister-in-law, Ron (Carolyn) Coleman of Hiram; nineteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted at Jones-Wynn Douglas Chapel on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park.
The following will be serving as pallbearers: Isaiah Coleman, Barjean Jordan, Coda Mejorado-Voyles, Freddie Few, Thomas Foster, and Charlie Freeman.
