James Culberson, Jr.

Mr. James Culberson, Jr., age 76 of Douglasville, Georgia passed away, Tuesday, November 17, 2020. He was born February 23, 1944 in Etowah, Tennessee, the son of the late Mr. James Richard Culberson and the late Mary Vaughn Culberson. Mr. Culberson worked at Specialty Concrete as a concrete specialist. He loved his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to sew all types of items such as Christmas stockings, blankets, pillow cases, handkerchiefs, and many couch quilts. Mr. Culberson loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Arnell Joan Daniel Culberson of Douglasville; brothers, Odell Culberson, Amos Culberson, Okale Ray, Henry (T-Model) Culberson; sisters, Ruby Hamm, Okale May Culberson, Mary Emma Weeks. Mr. Culberson is survived by daughters and sons-in-laws, Beulah Jane and Andre Colson of Decatur, Georgia, Mary and Dennis Payne of Attalla, Alabama, Tina Fowler of Douglasville, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Clyde and Aileen Culberson of Dallas, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and James Thomas of Etowah, Tennessee; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Graveside Services will be conducted Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2:30 PM from Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Mary Payne (daughter) and others from the Family speaking. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to The Dementia Society and Research Foundation.
