James David Massengale

Mr. James David Massengale, 79, of Maroney Mill Road, Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, January 2, 2006 at his residence. He was born May 29, 1926, in Fulton County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Dave Massengale and the late Delia Chaistain Massengale. Mr. Massengale was a member of Floyd Road Baptist Church in Austell, Georgia. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II and he was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Massengale worked for Chattanooga Brick as an assembler and in marketing. In addition to his parents, Mr. Massengale was preceded in death by his son, Manuel Clayton Massengale Survivors include his wife of nearly 52 years, Mrs. Mary Chaistain Massengale of Douglasville; his daughters and son-in-law, Janice and Wayne Allen of Douglasville and Robin Massengale of Douglasville; his son and daughter-in-law, James Eric and Kristy Massengale of Temple; his sister and brother-in-law, Molly Evelyn and Hoyt Johnson of Lithia Springs; brothers and sisters-in-law, Aaron and Phillis Johnson of Cedartown, Billy E. and Linda Johnson of Douglasville and Travis Massengale of Ashburn; 4 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 6, 2006 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Burman Cape, Jr., Rev. Billy Patrick and Mr. Billy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, January 5, 2006, from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville is in charge of arrangements.
